1、故事名稱：Plenty of Penguins-企鵝的故事

故事內(nèi)容：

What’s black and white and cute as can be?什么東西有黑有白，很是可愛?

A penguin. That’s me.是企鵝，那就是我。

Do you want to meet my family?你想見見我的家人嗎?

Penguins are big.有的企鵝個子大。

And penguins are small.有的企鵝個子小。

We have sharp, pointy feathers.我們有尖尖的羽毛，

But that’s not all…但是，還不止這些呢……

We can have stripes… or spots here and there.我們身上可能會有條紋或是斑點。

Long, bushy brows… or spiky hair.我們也會有長長的、濃密的眉毛或是尖尖的頭發(fā)。

There are even gright colors that some of us share.

有些企鵝的身上甚至還長著鮮艷的羽毛。

I live at the South Pole.我住在南極，

It is covered with ice, ice, ice.那里到處都被冰雪覆蓋著。

I think ice is very nice.我覺得冰塊太棒了。

We have homes in other places, too –我們在別的地方也有家——

South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and Peru.

南非、新西蘭、澳大利亞和秘魯(都有我們的家)。

We cannot fly up, up, up, and away.我們飛不高也飛不遠。

That is stange for a bird, wouldn’t you say?你一定會說：這種鳥可真奇怪!

We waddle and hop and have lots of fun.

我們走起路來搖搖擺擺，還一跳一跳的。我們的生活很有趣。

We swim. And we dive down deep, one by one.我們游泳，一個接一個地跳進水里，扎得很深。

We find many little fish, squid, and shrimp to eat.我們捉很多小魚、魷魚和小蝦來吃。

They are mmm, mmm good.Yum, Yum – what a treat!嗯……真好吃——簡直太棒了!

But we have to watch out.不過我們得小心。

We might become meals for killer whales and leopard seals.

因為我們很有可能成為逆戟鯨和豹形海豹得美餐。

On land we live in great, big groups called colonies.

在陸地上，我們有很多企鵝成群地生活在一起，這叫做群落。

They are also know as rookeries.我們住的地方也叫做群居地。

We make nests. We rest.我們自己筑巢，棲息在那里。

We lay eggs. We keep them warm.我們產(chǎn)蛋，之后開始孵蛋。

We watch, and we wait, and we keep them from harm until…

我們看著它們，等待它們，保護它們，不讓它們受到傷害，直到……

The eggs hatch!小企鵝孵了出來!

Hooray! Hooray!太棒了!太棒了!
